If you’ve been down that road already, chances are, you might be doubting yourself right now, because no matter how many times you’ve livestreamed on Instagram, no one is either watching or taking advantage of your products and or services.

What’s going on?

First and foremost, take a look at how you’re doing the following in your Instagram Lives:

  • How you’re connecting with users
  • How you’re engaging your audience
  • How you’re spreading the word about your brand, AND
  • How you’re establishing your branding

If you’re lacking in some or all of these areas, then don’t panic! In this article, we’ll show you 4 tips on how to improve your business’s livestreaming on Instagram.

1. Practice With A Dummy Account

“It’s important to practice with a dummy account, before you livestream on your business’s Instagram,” says Jenna Tilson, a business writer at Eliteassignmenthelp and UK Writings. “With a dummy account, you can rehearse a routine, work on line delivery, adjust video and audio settings, and make other adjustments before you press the ‘Go Live’ button for real. You can also save your practice Lives when they end by tapping the download button at the top left-hand corner.”

2. Set Up Device For Streaming

Sometimes, you’ll get messages and phone calls on your device(s). However, allowing messages and calls while attempting a livestream on Instagram, can cause a delay in your broadcast.

So, be sure to turn off notifications, and put your phone or device on “Do Not Disturb” mode. Plus, ensure your device is able to be used for streaming. If you need to invest in a tripod for your device, then go for it. If you need any other supporting equipment for your device, don’t hesitate to invest in it.

3. Create Incentives

“People need reasons to tune into your live stream,” says Kacey Anderson, a marketing blogger at State of writing and OX Essays. “This is especially important for businesses, especially if you’re looking to sell a product or service. That’s why it’s important to create incentives for your audience. In other words, why do you want people to tune in? What’s in it for them when they tune in? Or, what’s at stake if they don’t?” Here are a couple of ways to creative incentives:

  • Disappearing incentives depict scarcity. In other words, you’re giving viewers a time window to redeem something before it’s “gone” or “too late.” If you say something like “There are only a few spots left!” then you’ll most likely see people react to the urgency.
  • Live Q&As (questions and answers) sets you up as an authority. Plus, your customers will definitely be willing to ask you questions. With live Q&As, you can answer questions on the spot.

4. Promote Live Videos As Paid Ads

Finally, don’t be afraid to repurpose one or some of your most popular live videos as paid ads. The good news is, you can promote an existing post or video on your profile using Instagram advertising.

Here’s how it works: Once you’ve finished your Instagram Live video, you have the option of adding it to your Stories. However, Stories last for only 24 hours. So, consider adding your live video to a new or existing story highlight to keep it for more than 24 hours.

Keep in mind: You’ll need a business or creator account on Instagram to use this strategy. If you don’t have one, take the time to create one. Plus, you’ll need a Facebook Business Page to be linked to your Instagram. Once you have a business/creator account and a Facebook Business Page ready, chose your saved live video and click “Promote” under that post.

From there, fill out the following options:

  • Your audience
  • Where you want people to go
  • Your budget, AND
  • The duration of the ad

Afterwards, tap “Create Promotion.”
