Our Christmas Gift Of Giving

For the past 4 years ThoughtShift has run a Reverse Advent Calendar throughout December. This encouraged team members and our extended network to donate non-perishable food and essential household items, which we have collected on behalf of Whitehawk Foodbank. We have always been so overwhelmed with the phenomenal donations that people have made and are delighted with the difference that this effort makes for so many over the Christmas period.

In place of corporate gifting to our clients over the past few years we have also chosen to make a further business donation directly to the foodbank on behalf of our clients.

Giving Is More Important Than Ever At Christmas 2020

The inspiring work of Marcus Rashford this year has shone a much needed spotlight on the plight of so many families across the UK and raised awareness of the need to keep food banks funded and supplied with food. Unfortunately, this has coincided with an increased demand for food banks, so whilst they are now more able to meet the increased demand, they are by no means better off overall.

At ThoughtShift we are all working from home, so not really in a position to make a big food collection as we have done in the past. Instead, we have once again made a financial donation to a local food bank; this year Brighton Food Bank. Team members have also contributed to food bank collections in their local supermarkets.

We have also once again this year proudly supported Reed’s Big Christmas Donation in aid of The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital. This campaign ensures that all the children inpatients over the Christmas period are able to have an Advent Calendar. A simple way to brighten every day.

In lieu of a Christmas party we are also thrilled to have purchased Christmas gifts for every team member from OutsideIn. OutsideIn are a genuine purpose-led streetwear brand. For every single purchase, a hat or pair of socks is donated to partner homeless charities for distribution to those who need them. This is their ‘Wear One, Share One’ concept which has impacted those experiencing homelessness in over 36 countries and 200 cities. Since 2016, more than 55,284 (Oct 2020) giving products have been distributed globally.

It has been a hell of a year and we are proud to be able to make a difference in the lives of people who really need it. Everyone at ThoughtShift thanks all of our clients for their ongoing support which enables us to do so.

Merry Christmas and the very best wishes for 2021.
